This story begins with a...

....bucket of water.

On most weekday evenings, we follow a nice little schedule. Dinner for the little man around 6:00, bath time by 6:30, and bottle, bed, and a few nighttime books by 7:00. But sometimes, Momma doesn't have to play by the rules. It was 6:45 when we made our way outside. It just didn't seem right to pass up seventy degree weather, the beginnings of a sunset, and the possibilities of a bucket of water....

Jacob is never one to pass up a new adventure.

And what a brave, adventurous little one we are raising. He has the perfect balance between being daring enough to attempt something once and being cautious enough to study how it is done.

Enter in our neighbors. These two are so sweet with Jacob and Jacob is more than thrilled to be involved in big-kid playtime.

Sometimes he likes sitting back and taking it all in... watching and learning.

and sometimes he likes diving in head first.

But regardless of what he is doing, more often than not, he does it with a smile on his face. And when Jacob smiles, everyone around him smiles too. That's exactly the way we like it.

Sometimes we don't have to play by the rules.

We can make messes and explore and discover new things.

And on this night, we did just that.

Our little bucket adventure? Oh yes, my friends, well worth the schedule change.
